Raden Ajeng Kartini, one of the country's national heroes and a pioneer in the emancipation of Indonesian woman. She married in 1903 and began a fight for the right of women to be educated.
Every year, in Kartini’s day celebration, we usually wear a traditional outfit as a symbol of living in diversity. The main event is a Miss GPS selection. Each class has a representative to join the Miss GPS selection. There were 9 candidates from grade 7 and 8. Each representative has to express their opinion about modern Kartini in a speech and show their talent in front of judges and audience.
They are all very fluent in expressing their ideas. The performance was also interesting. In the end, the winners have to be chosen. Congratulation to Tengku Jihaan Humairaa from 8D as the third winner, Olivia Amabel Hasiana from grade 7B as the second winner, and Maisyarani Salsabila Zahra from 8C as the first winner. May the celebration inspires and gives birth to the spirit of emancipation.
