Preparing the Cambridge Preparatory (CP) Class of Global Prestasi School (GPS) for the outside world is paramount, and this not only means they are armed with knowledge, but also with good manners. This has become increasingly very important in the education of young children. These days, technological advancements have overshadowed basic rules in life all in the name of technology. Moreover, knowledge is nothing if one doesn’t have the manners and good behaviour. To achieve this, the grade 7 CP students attended the annual Table Manners Seminar organised by GPS at HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Bekasi.Conducted by Adi Candrajastika, a member of the hotel’s marketing staff, on March 07, the 41 students were taught the do’s and don’ts of dining etiquette, the proper way to handle the cutlery, crockery, and table napkin, the right way to sit, eat, and conduct one’s self during the course of the meal, and the importance of wearing the appropriate clothes. The students were given the chance to quickly apply what they learned through the four-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Asef viz. appetiser of Romaine salad with curry-scented prawn; cream of potato with beef bacon soup; main course of chicken cordon bleu on grilled zucchini and eggplant; and cream caramel pudding for dessert.
