SWEET CUISINE ON THE WEKEND

Cooking class is one of the student skills improvement programs in Global Prestasi to facilitate students in addition to academic ability. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has slightly hampered the holding of cooking classes which are routinely held at the school cooking lab. These obstacles do not dampen the enthusiasm of the school to continue to provide the best service for its students. Therefore, SD Global Prestasi held a Fun Cooking event -online through the Zoom application which was attended by all students.

This event is divided into two sessions: session I starting from 08:00-09:30 AM for grade 1-3 students. It presented Mr. Andy Yustian H. (Jeremy Joel's parent, Class 1-D) and session II starting from 10:00-11:30 AM for grade 4-6 students. The school invited Mrs. Andriati Irfree H. (Keisha Almeira’s parent- Class 6-A and Zheevana’s parent – 4A). They are really talented cooks.

The dishes were also very fascinating. For session I, made a Western dish “French Toast with Strawberry, Caramel, and Buttercream". The second session is also interesting, the theme of the dessert that is popular and favored by everyone is the Mango Dessert Box which is certainly sweet and fresh. The enthusiasm of the students was very great, seen from the large number of participants, and even invited their parents to cook together in the kitchen of their homes.

As the highlight of the event, the school gave prizes to three students at each level for uploading photos with their most interesting cooking results on their respective Instagram accounts by linking the @globalprestasischool and @gps_elementary Instagram accounts. Hopefully the enthusiasm and creativity of this online cooking event can provide students with knowledge and expertise to be more independent and creative.
