Starting a sunny day with a glass of healthy and fresh ice? Of course it is a fun thing. Especially if you make it yourself wholeheartedly.  On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, the 3rd and 4th grade students of Global Prestasi Elementary School enthusiastically prepared various materials to be used in the cooking class session. That morning they learned how to make fresh drinks made from melon, nata de coco, and chia seeds.

As usual, the cooking class session was hosted by Mr. Andre as the chef. The activity was divided into two sessions through Zoom, the first session started at 08.00-09.00 for grade 4, and the second session was at 09.30-10.30 for grade 3. Mr. Andre explained the steps that should be followed in the process of making a drink menu called "Ice Lychee Jelly with Nata de Coco and Melon" with its unique, interactive  style. Students actively asked questions through the message feature in Zoom if they experienced problems or when they were left behind a few steps in the process of making their drinks. Mr. Andre also interacted with the students when the drink was finished. Many of them also shared their drinks with family members because they made them in large quantities.

At the end of the session the students were asked to take a photo of their work and upload it to Google Classroom. With all the limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it does not reduce the enthusiasm of teachers and students to continue carrying out cooking class activities. This activity is expected to provide new knowledge, experience and train students to remain productive in the midst of a pandemic.
