Building Doors of Opportunity - Career Camp 2024

27 March 2024

Entitled "Building Doors of Opportunities," the Career Camp 2024 event invited 11th-grade students to proactively pursue their dreams. Rather than waiting for opportunities behind closed doors, students were encouraged to learn how to construct and open their own doors of opportunity, thereby making their desired goals a reality.

On the first day of the Career Camp, 11th-grade students met with several notable figures in their respective fields, one of whom was Kevin Tania, the Founder of The Cut Rumah Barber. Kevin shared his story and experiences in building a business, as well as providing insights into "Turning Hobby Into Profit." In addition to Kevin, students also encountered prominent figures from various fields including Business Economics, Branding, Finance and Banking, Financial Technology, Accounting, Hospitality Business, Event Management, Business Mathematics, Digital Business Technology, Food Business Technology, Energy Business Technology, Product Design Innovation, Computer System Engineering, and International Business Law.

An exciting and engaging activity that took place on the first day was the Foodbiz Challenge. Students were invited to participate in a business simulation game in groups. Each group was tasked with creating a product and then presenting it to the teachers and committee members present. This led to all students competing to sell their products and earn high profits.

Company Visits were introduced as a new program in the 2024 Career Camp. This activity aimed to prepare students for the competitive world of work and to understand the cooperation and communication among employees in a company or related institution. Students were divided into four groups to visit different companies, namely MAP, APP Sinar Mas, Sinar Mas Land, and Celco Coffee.

At MAP, students were briefed on retail and merchandising. The staff at MAP also provided several simulation games to create concepts and design an attractive retail space within their groups. The discussion results had to be presented to other groups, and there was evaluation by MAP judges. This was done to help students understand the work processes in the retail field in Indonesia.

The Career Camp 2024 concluded with fun games at BSD Extreme Park. During these games, students not only played but also learned about teamwork and team building, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in achieving goals. Additionally, students participated in outbound activities such as high ropes and archery to enhance their courage and skills.
