An Engaging and Supportive Learning Community

At elementary school, students will receive more than just a rigorous academic education — they will also learn skills that will be useful for them throughout their lives. Global Prestasi School (GPS) offers enriching experiences for students, from extracurriculars to sports and arts programs.

Curriculum

GPS elementary school (GP-ES) uses an Merdeka Belajar curriculum as well as the Cambridge Assessment International Education and Cambridge Assessment English curriculum.

Merdeka Belajar National Curriculum

The Merdeka Belajar curriculum is a refinement of 2004 competency-based curriculum (KBK), the 2006 school-level autonomy curriculum (KTSP) and the 2013 curriculum. It is highly regarded as a major step forward in bringing educational transformation, with focus on cognitive development and emphasis given to critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Cambridge International Primary Curriculum

The Cambridge International Primary Curriculum starts learners on an exciting educational journey. It sets a global standard for education and provides a strong foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling before progressing through the IGCSE. Students in elementary school will receive a Cambridge Primary Checkpoint and Cambridge Young Learner certificate. The curriculum is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach which allows students to develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.

By combining Merdeka Belajar national curriculum with Cambridge international curriculum, we are able to assess several important aspects of students’ educational attainment, namely in-depth subject matter knowledge, conceptual understanding, and critical thinking skills. In addition, there are also enrichment opportunities such as e-learning success maker reading and coding classes.

Besides the Curriculum, we were looking for a school where Bening could see the diversity of culture and high nationalism. During his six years at Global Prestasi School, there were a lot of programs that supported the development of Bening’s cognitive and social skills.
